Plans for Elmwood Park
The 40-acre Elmwood Park (not including the zoo) is undergoing a public master planning process through June 2025. The historic park, located along the banks of Stony Creek, has been through rough times recently due to storm damage, flooding, and fire. In addition to improving the existing park, it will be expanded to include the Roosevelt Field track and football field.

Simone Collins Landscape Architecture has been retained by the municipality to develop the master plan in partnership with the public. Four public meetings are open to all and an online survey is available in both English and Spanish. Please fill out the survey and plan to attend one or more public meetings, which take place in person at the Norristown PAL building and online.

Juneteenth 2025
The 2025 Juneteenth Jubilee Street Festival in Norristown will be held on Thursday, June 19th from 12 pm to 6 pm at Dekalb and Main Streets.
Juneteenth, celebrated annually on June 19th, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. The Juneteenth Jubilee in Norristown is a vibrant celebration of heritage and community. Festival highlights include live performances, food and drink vendors, an art show, Kids Zone and Living History reenactment at Centre Theater. The event is expected to draw over 2000 attendees and in past years it has been featured on three major news networks as well as the Times Herald.

We are thrilled that the annual Juneteenth Jubilee will provide a platform for community engagement while stimulating the local economy through valuable sales and marketing opportunities for merchants and small businesses.
